Friday 15th Oct and back to Assisi

After long driving day yesterday we decide to stay local and start at Santa Maria degli Angeli, a suburb of Assisi.  A quick top up at the supermarket, their euro 1.99 special offer Montepulciano wine is really very good !

We did have a moment or two of panic here as we tried to use the ATM and my card was rejected as not valid for international use......do have to say here that Italy still use a lot of cash, oh yeah, they don't like paying taxes......luckily the ATM inside the bank worked so phew !!!!

View of the huge complex of The Basilica of  St Francis from the road leading up to Assisi. As you approach Assisi the view of the Basilica is quite awesome and this was our first climpse of Assisi on the day we arrived. Great shame today as though very warm it is cloudy so the photos are not very sharpe and the views which should be brilliant are hazy.

One of the many narrow streets of Assisi. We walked for 3 hours or so poking about and a look see in general of the areas not yet covered. Again many many steps and steep streets, the leg muscles are learning to cope !

Well the observant among you will realise that I have changed the format of the blog, or should I say I got fed up with fighting it to do my will !!!! I'm not having the best evening, I have banged my head on the bathroom cupboard (this is before a glass of the red stuff) spilt a glass of water on the table that had the laptop on it and got a salmon fillet (cooked to perfection by Mr Masterchef) bone stuck in my throat ! I'm now settled with a glass of local brandy and hopefully mishaps come in 3's so I shall make it to bedtime without further disasters darling !
