Tuesday 12th October Walks around villa Casa Rosa

Back to it this morning and a day of walking the local area planned.
First short walk pre coffee is around the Casa Rosa  "estate". The first 2 pics are yurts. These are wooden "tents" of Kurdish nomad design. The gardener is living in one at the moment but they were built for the owners grandchildren.

Yeh Eileen we have found a waterfall !!!!!!
This is the after coffee before lunch walk. An hour round trip to a couple of waterfalls. To access this one we had to climb down a steep bank, well I slid down the top gravel bit and landed right on the base of my spine so feeling very sore this evening !

So this is the trail, very overgrown but we persevered !!

Lunch break then the 2 hour afternoon walk which doesn't sound a lot but it was down and up and down again over very steep and uneven terrain !
We had such a laugh, according to the map there is a church ahead so on we go. We can hear the bells ringing but the nearer we get the more odd it sounds. Turns out the lovely old church is now a private house and in the photo below is the new "prefabricated" church.
It was so bizarre as on a pole showing to the left hand side of the photo are 4 loudspeakers which was broadcasting the ringing bells !! There was not another sole in sight so we wondered if it was like Disneyland and we had set off a trigger on our walk to "guide" us to the church !!!

Onward and upward to the ridge and a view of Mount Subasio.
We must have burnt some calories today as especially the walk this afternoon was hard work !

A good day, but feeling a bit sore from my tumble.
My boy does another of his masterchef come ready steady cook impressions. The gardener had given us some windfall apples so chef rumages in fridge and produces sausages baked with potatoes and apples with a side salad, really yummy. Even I quite like the Italian potatoes.
Another thing that amuses us is that the power keeps dipping so the lights are bright one minute and dim the next, reminds us of our younger days visiting Greece. so far no cuts but there are candles !!
